Henri IV takes by storm all the suburbs of Paris, and reduces the city to the most horrible famine, but the Parisian ones, fanaticized by the monks, reject any compromise and are defended with heroism.
At the end of four months, a Spanish army, ordered by Alexandre of Parma, comes to their help and forces Henri IV to raise the seat (September 1590).
Henri IV, weakened, cannot, the following year, that to take Chartes and recruit soldiers.
